Discovery’s Alaskan Bush People used to be a show about a family unit roughing it in the wilderness of Alaska. Over the years, and with the unfortunate passing of the family patriarch, the show has become more about the siblings finding their way in the world and, in some cases, finding love.

A handful of Brown siblings are married with kids, while others (like Snowbird) are contemplating what they want for their futures. For Gabe, his love story started years ago, but fans began to worry when they noticed his wife was no longer appearing on the family show. So what happened to Raquell Rose, and why isn’t she on Alaskan Bush People?

Fans might recall that when Gabe Brown began dating Raquell Rose, the storyline featured heavily on Alaskan Bush People. Though some fans guessed that the Brown boys were rushing into getting married for all the wrong reasons, it seems Gabe and Noah made solid choices in their marriages.

Bear Brown’s marriage has been more tumultuous, publicly speaking, with assault charges, custody issues, and multiple breakups and makeups. It’s possible Gabe and Noah have had similar struggles, but none of their business has been broadcast the way their brother’s has been.

While Gabe’s love story was on the show, it was all heart-eyes and wedding planning. Gabe and Raquell met in 2018 (on Valentine’s Day) and got married in 2019.

To date, the only thing Gabe has turned heads for is his rockin’ eyeliner look and secretly welcoming children under the radar with his wife.

Raquell Brown Disappeared From Alaskan Bush People

Fans who watched Gabe and Raquell’s love story—not to mention their wedding, which was filmed by Discovery—were surprised when she suddenly dropped off the show in the middle of a season.

Fans immediately suspected marital troubles, but as Gabe didn’t say anything (and neither did the rest of the family), Raquell’s absence was sort of glossed over. The fact that various family members live in different places likely doesn’t help, either.

Though Alaskan Bush People always shows a cohesive family unit, some of the family continues to reside in Washington, while some of the siblings (namely Noah, whose house-hunting was followed on various episodes) want to return to the Alaskan Bush.

Gabe seems happily settled, and looking at his social media, and his continued (and seemingly happy) presence on the show, it seems there’s really nothing to see.

Why Is Gabe Brown’s Wife Not On Alaskan Bush People?

Given that Gabe still posts photos of his wife and the two seem to be happily married, fans can only guess the reason why Raquell Rose no longer appears on Alaskan Bush People. However, the simplest answer might be that she simply doesn’t want to be in the spotlight.

The Brown family has had plenty of supporters over the years, but there are also many people who think the show is a bizarre mess and the family is a bunch of liars. With those two wildly different ends of the audience segment following the family on social media, the Browns might have a hard time tuning out the negative noise.

Not to mention, the fact that Bear Brown’s relationship issues have made headlines due to his reality TV fame could have put the siblings off broadcasting their families, too.

So while Gabe continues to appear on the family show, it seems his wife is choosing to opt out—and largely keep their kids out of the potential drama, too.

How Many Kids Do Gabe And Raquell Brown Have?

The most logical reason why Raquell isn’t often on (or mentioned on) Alaskan Bush People is likely because she’s busy with her and Gabe’s kids. While Gabe often helps out on the family ranch, and of course is filmed doing so, someone has to take care of their two children.

As of April 2023, Raquell and Gabe have two daughters. One arrived in October 2021, while the other was born around 2019. With her second child’s arrival, Raquell did take to Instagram and, perhaps unintentionally, cleared the air about her absence from the show.

The mom of two wrote, “This year has been especially hard for our family but with hard times; blessings come as well. As many of you have noticed, I take my privacy and my children’s privacy very seriously. You may not see us around as often as you do with Gabe, none the less we’re still here. We continue to ask for our privacy from the public eye.”

In a February 2023 post, Raquell posted to Instagram that she would be getting out of her comfort zone and posting more on social media, elaborating that “anxiety will no longer control me.”

Raquell didn’t mention a reason for her anxiety, but her followers were wildly supportive, and it’s clear Gabe is in his wife’s corner as well.

To date, both have posted their kids on social media, and both have TikTok accounts where they, among other things, gush about their relationship.

For any fans who were worried about Raquell, though she admitted to the family having hard times, it doesn’t seem those “hard times” had anything to do with her and Gabe’s love for one another.
