Will Alaskan Bush People Be Renewed For A 15th Season? In October 2022, the 14th season of Alaskan Bush People premiered, and enthusiastic fans tuned in to see what was new with the Brown family. Over the years, viewers have watched the Brown kids grow up and even get married and start families.

With each season, the show seems to become even more popular, even though it also deals with a lot of criticism. To date, the Alaskan Bush People show has been accused of falsifying film locations and manufacturing drama. But somehow, it continues to hit ratings gold. Does that mean there will be a 15th and subsequent seasons?

Alaskan Bush People Is Hugely Popular After Almost A Decade

Alaskan Bush People premiered in 2014 with Billy and Ami Brown living in the Alaskan wilderness with their seven kids. The show has, to date, seen the family through plenty of adventures and hard times in the Bush, three marriages, Billy Brown’s passing, a handful of Browns being born, and various health issues among family members.

Much of the appeal of the series is what happens behind the scenes, however. While the family does share personal information on the show, there are many things happening behind the cameras that viewers aren’t always privy to, or that they don’t find out until months later.

For example, Matt Brown unceremoniously left the series after some personal struggles and is now off doing his own thing without reality TV involvement. No one has spoken up, officially, about why he left the series, and the family doesn’t even seem to talk about him.

Joshua “Bam Bam” Brown also ducked out for a time; he was apparently living on a boat with his girlfriend, a former producer from Discovery. Fans were somewhat critical of his time away from the show, assuming that he was living it up on a yacht while his family ‘pretended’ to be Bush people.

Bam did come back to film, but Matt’s storyline was never tied up neatly.

Now, however, the family is rebuilding both in Washington and Alaska, as the Brown kids hope to create the same childhood for their kids that Billy Brown did for them.

Though Discovery could, in theory, end the series anytime, it doesn’t seem likely. Alaskan Bush People, despite sharing a geographical location with other Discovery shows, is very different from anything else on the air.

The Browns have a unique appeal, even though many critics lament the fact that the family seems (not that they necessarily are) quite uneducated; the family “accent” is often a point of contention.

But even though the series is full of bizarre moments, viewers keep tuning in. Even the family’s legal troubles and relationship drama (which aren’t actually discussed in the series) seem to pull people in.

Even with the quasi-competitor Alaska: The Last Frontier showing off in comparison, Alaskan Bush People is still holding its own.

Plus, recent developments during season 14’s premiere suggest that the show will have even more fodder for new episodes. First there were Snowbird’s health issues, which set off the season with some drama.

But there was also a revelation from Noah Brown, who plans to return to Alaska with his wife and growing family. One episode covered Noah exploring Alaska and checking out properties that might be suitable for his family.

Snowbird and Rain also returned to Alaska with their brother, which for Snowbird was part of her grieving process for Billy.

As the family continues to adjust to life without its patriarch, it’s clear things will change. But that’s part of what makes the Alaskan Bush People relatable and good-quality entertainment on reality TV.

Will Discovery+ Ever Cancel Alaskan Bush People?

It’s safe to assume that Discovery will continue following the Brown family, if not in an everlasting Alaskan Bush People series, then at least in spinoffs focusing on each of the Brown kids’ growing families.

As of early 2023, Noah, Gabe, and Bear are the only married Browns with children, but Bam Bam is said to have been in a long-term relationship for quite a while.

It’s entirely possible that the family’s drama will continue to attract viewers, even though many details (like the family’s welfare fraud charges and arrests) are glossed over during the series.

Perhaps people will continue to tune in to see if any hints are revealed about the drama, and possibly that’s why Discovery presents the storylines the way it does.

Regardless, ratings haven’t dropped in a while, suggesting that Alaskan Bush People is safe, even if the network decides to trim down its offerings.
